Parental Interventions
Parenting can be one of life’s most rewarding—and most challenging—journeys. Using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I offer supportive interventions to help parents navigate difficulties such as anxiety, behavioural concerns, emotional regulation, and family dynamics. Together, we explore practical strategies that build confidence, strengthen relationships, and promote wellbeing across the family unit. My aim is to empower you with tools that foster resilience and create positive, lasting change.

Support for Parents of Anxious Children
At Talk It Through Therapies, I use the Timid to Tiger framework to guide parents of 8–11 year-olds through managing childhood anxiety. Grounded in CBT principles, this eight-week programme equips you with clear, calm and consistent parenting strategies proven to build emotional resilience.
Programme Structure
Delivered over eight weekly sessions, we’ll explore how anxiety develops within family systems and practice hands-on tools to promote confidence, reduce worry and strengthen your parent–child bond.
Weekly Topics Include
Welcome & Introduction – Clarify programme aims and set expectations
Strengthening Connection – Foster secure attachment with non-directive play
Understanding Anxiety – Spot how anxiety presents in your child
Confidence & Motivation – Use praise and rewards to boost self-esteem
Setting Boundaries – Apply clear limits alongside low-attention responses
Supporting Worry Management – Teach coping techniques for daily worries
Handling Challenging Behaviour – Deploy strategies for more intense moments
Review & Celebration – Reflect on growth and plan next steps
By working through the Timid to Tiger format, you’ll gain deep insight into your child’s emotional world while learning evidence-based approaches to nurture calm, connection and confidence.

Support for Parents of Teens
Having worked extensively in CAMHS, I’ve supported many adolescents and their families through the ups and downs of teenage life. It’s a time of seeking independence while still needing guidance—a push-pull that can be challenging for everyone involved.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be a powerful tool to help young people build confidence, manage emotions, and realise their full potential. But what if your teenager isn’t ready or willing to engage in therapy?
The good news is: you can still help. There are practical, evidence-based strategies that parents can use to support their child’s wellbeing, even outside of formal therapy. I offer tailored guidance to help you feel more confident and equipped in your role.

Thank you for all your support with our daughter. We've had help from many excellent professionals over the years but no one made me feel as cared for and supported as you. You listened, you encouraged me when I was feeling like an utter failure as a mother, you kept checking in and most importantly you were able to build a trusting relationship with our daughter.
