FAQs

Once I receive your enquiry, I’ll get back to you as soon as I am able to via email to arrange a free 15-minute consultation call.
This informal conversation is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what you’re looking for. I’ll ask a few gentle questions about:
What’s led you to consider therapy
Your current concerns
Any previous therapy experiences
Whether you have a particular approach in mind
Any important wellbeing factors I should be aware of
You’re welcome to ask me anything too — about therapy styles, how I work, or what to expect going forward.
It may sound like a lot, but I promise the call will be relaxed and completely pressure-free.
-
We’ll close the consultation by gently exploring whether I feel like the right fit for you. If not, I’ll do my best to signpost you to trusted colleagues or services that may better support your needs.
If everything feels aligned, we’ll get our diaries together and book your first session — starting your therapy journey in a way that feels calm and considered. Sessions can be the same time every week if that helps but I do also offer flexible slots.
-
At this time, sessions are available online only, for UK based clients using secure video conferencing platforms. Telephone call is also an option.
This flexible format means therapy can take place wherever you are — whether at home, at work, or somewhere else that feels safe and comfortable. It also allows me to reach clients across the UK who may otherwise struggle to access specialist support locally.

-
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — the number of sessions varies depending on your goals, circumstances, and the type of support you’re seeking.
With CBT, many clients find between 6 and 20 sessions helpful, especially when working on specific challenges like anxiety, low mood, or self-esteem. We’ll set goals together and regularly review progress so therapy feels focused and purposeful.
With EMDR, the timeline is a little more individual. Some people may need only a few sessions to process a single traumatic event, while others benefit from a longer series to explore complex trauma or multiple experiences. EMDR includes phases like preparation and resourcing, so we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and effective for you.
Whatever your path, I’ll work collaboratively with you to tailor therapy to your needs — and we’ll review together as things unfold to ensure it remains useful and supportive.
-
There’s no formal preparation needed — just come as you are.
If you’re joining online, it can be helpful to:
Find a quiet, private space where you feel safe and undisturbed
Have a stable internet connection and headphones if needed
Bring a notebook or journal, if you like jotting things down
Keep a glass of water nearby and anything that helps you feel comfortable
You don’t need to “be ready” or have everything figured out — therapy is a space to explore that together. Whether you're feeling nervous, hopeful, unsure, or all of the above, you're warmly welcome.
-
Payment is made via bank transfer, and all the relevant details will be shared in your therapy contract when we begin working together.
To confirm your booking, payment is kindly requested at least 24 hours before each session.
I also work in partnership with Vita Health and Bupa Health Insurance — if you’re covered through either, do let me know so we can explore how to arrange your sessions through their services.
If you'd like to explore this route:
Please let me know your policy details at the enquiry stage - usually for Bupa clients this is known as a ‘Membership ID’ and ‘Preauthorisation Code’
I’ll guide you through the process of booking and invoicing through your insurer
If you're unsure or have questions about using health insurance to fund therapy, I'm happy to talk things through during our initial consultation call.
-
Life happens, and I understand things may come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full, as this time has been set aside specifically for you.
If you’re ever unsure or something unexpected occurs, feel free to reach out — I’ll always aim to be understanding and fair.
